Metabolic Clamp Study in VeCad-CC1 KO Mice

Investigator Najjar, Sonia
Description VE cadherin CC1 knock-out mice (VE cadherin cre+(fl/fl) exhibit higher body
weight, higher fat mass, lower energy expenditure and hyperphagia beginning at 3
months of age. However, these mice remain Insulin sensitive even up to 14 months
of age shown by our Insulin tolerance test, Glucose tolerance test, insulin
assay and assessment of random and fasting glucose levels.

This study is approved for the Metabolism Core of UMass MMPC and will involve
body composition and hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic clamp in 20 VECad-CC1 KO and WT
mice. This study will be led by Dr. Hye-Lim Noh and Dr. Hee Joon Kang.
