Experiment

Hyperinsulinemic Hyperglycemic clamp order #20723 Feb 2016
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Flynn, Robb
Description Knockout of the G-protein coupled bile acid receptor. Interested in the impact
of altered bile acid flow after bariatric procedures (RYGB and biliary
diversion) on the improvements in metabolic phenotypes after surgery.

Experimental Factors
 Categorical Values
Name / AbbreviationDescription

Experimental Factor: Experimental Group

 Control
This animal belongs to the control group for the experiment.
 Experiment
This animal belongs to experimental group that is homozygous for gene manipulations.

Experimental Factor: Mouse Diet

 BioServ F3282
Rodent Hig Fat Diet. Protein 20.%, Fat 35.5%, Fiber 0.0%, Ash 3.2%, Moisture <5.0%, Carbohydrate 36.3%. Ingredients: Lard, Casein, Dextrose, Sucrose, DL-Methionine, Choline Chloride, Vitamin Mix and Mineral Mix

Experimental Factor: Surgical Procedure

 anesthesia control
The anesthesia control animals.
 BD-IL
Bile diversion to the ileum. In this procedure the common bile duct is ligated proximal to the confluence of the common bile and the pancreatic ducts. An anastomosis is created at the ileum to re-establish drainage of the biliary tree.
 RYGB
Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. This procedure closely replicates the human procedure, in which the jejunum is anastomosed to the stomach just below the cardia, leaving a small gastric pouch.
