Experiment

Circulating insulin and adiponectin levels in B6 mice treated with letrozole
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Thackray, Varykina
Description Letrozole treatment of pubertal female mice results in hallmarks of PCOS
including elevated androgens, anovulation, polycystic ovaries and a metabolic
phenotype.

Female mice with either Placebo or Letrozole pellets implants (5 weeks) were
fasted for 5 hrs starting at 8am and euthanized using isoflurance overdose.
Blood was collected via a 25G needle through the mouse aorta. Blood is tend
processed at 4C and spun down for serum. The objective of this study is to
obtain data regarding insulin and LBP levels in fasted placebo and letrozole
mice. To determine the difference in insulin response from the incretin effect
and determine whether letrozole affects the secretion of adiponectin.
