Sable Energy Balance #24532 2/23/18
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Brown, Jacob
Description Energy expenditure measured by indirect calorimetry in the Promethion by Sable
Systems. Activity, food intake and water intake are also continuously measured.
Measurements were taken for 11 consecutive days.
Running wheels were not present in the cage.
Mice were fed ad libitum.
Water: regular tap water, ad libitum.

Groups:
Male Flox (C57BL/6-Glp1rtm1.1Stof) and KO (C57BL/6-Glp1) mice.
Mice were fed a High Fat Diet (Research Diets - D12492).
Mice were given Pbs or Exendin-4.

Name / AbbreviationDescription

Experimental Factor: Drug Administered

 Exendin-4
Exendin-4 is an incretin mimetic peptide, which is composed of 39 amino acids. It is an analog of glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1), and an insulinotropic agent, with a long half-life. Exendin-4 has been used for the treatment of ob/ob mouse model t...
 PBS
Phosphate-buffered saline is a buffer salt solution containing disodium hydrogen phosphate and sodium chloride.

Experimental Factor: Experimental Group

 Control
This animal belongs to the control group for the experiment.
 Experiment
This animal belongs to experimental group that is homozygous for gene manipulations.

Experimental Factor: Mouse Diet

 Research Diets - D12492
Rodent Diet with 34% Fat, 60% kcal from Fat

Experimental Factor: Sable Run (RNum)

 Sable Run
The run number for the Sable system used to assess energy expenditure.
