Experiment

Hyperinsulinimic clamp June 2020 order #26274
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Lutkewitte, Andrew
Description Understanding how fat cells (adipocytes) function during obesity is critical for
potential treatment options for the current obesity epidemic. Although the
obesity rates continue to rise, not all obese patients are considered
metabolically unhealthy and do not develop obesity-related diseases. Our mouse
model mimics these patient populations and is crucial for progress in obesity
research. Upon completion of these studies we will better understand the
functions of fat cells in regulating whole-body metabolism and not just fat
storage.
