2020-03-02 Chen - Luis 38 Mice 3 Day CLAMS Run
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Villacorta-Perez, Luis
Description The purpose of these studies is to monitor formation of nitrated species of CLA
in rodents as readily occurs in humans (who routinely obtain CLA for dietary
sources). Standard chow diets in rodent however, (either growing, adult or
breeding diets) do not contain any (or marginally) CLA. An added advantage of
this protocol is to establish whether providing a combination of CLA in the chow
diet and nitrite in the drinking water, we are able to detect steady state
levels of nitro-conjugated linoleic acid at therapeutic levels that may be
useful to replace administration of nitro-fatty acids (oleic or linoleic) via
osmotic pump implantation.
