Experiment

Oxymax Order #2603 8/16/12
Summary Data Summary
Investigator McGuinness, Owen
Description Energy expenditure measured by indirect calorimetry in the Oxymax by Columbus
Instruments. Activity and food intake are also continuously measured.
Measurements were taken for 5 consecutive days.
Running wheels were not present in the cage.
Mice were fed ad libitum.
Water: regular tap water, ad libitum.

Groups:
Male WT (C57BL/6J) mice.
Mice were fed a chow diet (LabDiets 5001).
Mice were given either Saline or LPS.
Male WT Saline Chow: n=8,
Male WT LPS Chow: n=8,

Purpose of the experiment: This experiment will determine whether the groups of
mice have different energy expenditure and feeding behaviors.

Applicable Research Areas: Metabolism , Body weight regulation, energy
expenditure, feeding behavior.
