Metabolic Study in ACAT1 Mice

Description This strain is valuable for obesity, type II diabetes, and atherosclerosis
research.

The macrophage specific Acat1-/- mice are resistant to diet induced weight gain.
With Western diet, they have lower insulin level as well as lower glucose level.
They are more sensitive to glucose tolerance test than the WT mice.
