Strain
B6.129S4-Ndufs4tm1RpaTg(Adipoq-cre)1Evdr/J

Summary Data Summary
Official Name B6.129S4-Ndufs4tm1RpaTg(Adipoq-cre)1Evdr/J
Common Name B6.129S4-Ndufs4tm1RpaTg(Adipoq-cre)1Evdr/J
Description An frt-flanked neo cassette with a 5' loxP site was inserted
downstream of exon 2 and an additional loxP site was
inserted upstream of exon 2. Germ line, flp mediated
recombination was used to remove the neo cassette. Exon 2
contains the mitochondrial targeting sequence.
Mice harboring the Adipoq-Cre BAC transgene express Cre
recombinase under control of the mouse adiponectin (Adipoq)
promoter/enhancer regions within the BAC transgene.
Adipoq-Cre BAC transgenic mice are a Cre-lox tool for
deletion of floxed sequences in white adipose tissue and
brown adipose tissue, but not in activated or resident
macrophages.
The transgene integration site was identified to be on
chromosome 9 between exons 6 and 7 of the Tbx18 locus, see
Detailed Description section for more information.
