Experiment

Hyperinsulinemic-Euglycemic Clamp order #16408,September 2015
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Pi, Min
Description Serum insulin and c-peptide levels were decreased in beta-cell specific knockout
mice.

The globe Gprc6a knockout mice have complex metabolic abnormalities -- obesity,
glucose intolerance, hepatic steatosis, insulin resistance, hyperphosphatemia --
plus several hormonal abnormalities -- decreased testosterone, IGF1 and insulin
and increased estradiol, LH, GH, and leptin. Gprc6a-/- mice also exhibit
impaired mineralization and defects in osteoblast function in vivo and ex vivo.
