Description This mouse has DTR selectively expressed in serontonin neurons. This mouse is
useful for studying adult, 5-HT-specific knockouts in vivo.

Upon diphtheria toxin injection, a large percentage of 5-HT neurons will be
destroyed. The mice exhibit brown adipose steatosis, a severe reduction in
internal body temperature, and severe hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia.
