Experiment

Measurement of energy expenditure, RER and body composition in 28 month old mice
on one of 3 diets (control (AIN93G), ketogenic, or low carbohydrate diets for 1
year.
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Ramsey, Jon
Description To measure energy expenditure and body composition in 28 month old male mice on
one of three diets control (AIN93G), ketogenic (90% fat, 10% protein; 0.7%
carbohydrate), or low carbohydrate (70% fat, 20% protein and 10% carbohydrate).
All animals are fed 11.2 kcal/day of their designated diet. No DEXA was
performed due to concern about anesthesia in these older animals since they were
needed for additional testing (tissues) after metabolic cage analysis.
