Experiment

Metabolic measurements in C57 mice on protein restricted diets
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Ryan, Karen
Description 64 mice (37 male, 27 female) age 13 weeks were placed on one of three diets
containing either 20%, 5%, or 1.25% protein. Prior to placing animals on trial
diets an NMR was performed to determine body composition. Body weight and feed
weight were weighed every 2 days to observe weight changes and food intake. At
days 14 and 28 NMR was performed to measure body composition and at day 23 a
glucose tolerance test was performed via IP injection. Sac for tissue (liver,
brain, plasma, WAT, BAT) was performed on day 30 (17 weeks old). Tissues were
flash frozen and stored at -80C.
