Experiment

Circulating ALT and FFA levels in liver specific Esr1 KO mice
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Ingraham, Holly
Description 5-6 week old male and female mice were placed on a chow diet for 7 weeks. Group
two: 5-6 week old male and female mice were placed on a high fat diet (Research
Diets 12492) for 7 weeks. Mice had ad lib access to food and water. Mice were
fasted for 6 hours prior to collecting serum via submandible punture and then
were euthanized by cervical dislocation. Plasma was frozen and kept at 80°C.

ESR1 KO mice lack a functional estrogen receptor alpha. Female and male mice are
both infertile.
