Experiment

Circulating insulin levels in B6 mice gavaged with derivatives of niclosamide
(part 2)
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Shengkan, Jin
Description 5 hour-fastecd C57BL/6J mice were orally gavaged with vehicle or individual drug
suspension. Blood was collected through tail vein before and after oral gavage
with heparin-coated tube. Plasma was obtained by centrifugation at 1000g for
10-15min at 4? , and stored at -80? for further analysis. Niclosamdie and its
derivatives are a group of mitochondrial uncouplers that can stimulates oxygen
consumption. Hypothesis: Acute oral administration of mitochondrial uncouplers
could increase insulin sensitivity. The objective of the study is to investigate
the acute effect of mitochondrial uncoupler on metabolomics and insulin
sensitivity.
