Sable Energy Balance #25601 1/29/18
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Davis, Sarah
Description Energy expenditure measured by indirect calorimetry in the Promethion by Sable
Systems. Activity, food intake and water intake are also continuously measured.
Measurements were taken for 10 consecutive days.
Running wheels were not present in the cage.
Mice were fed ad libitum.
Water: regular tap water, ad libitum.
Mice were injected with either Saline, Asprosin 1, Asprosin 2, or Asprosin 3
during the study. During the first Sable run they were injected on day 3 of the
run at 5 PM-6PM. During the second Sable run they were injected on day 4 of the
run at 5 PM-6PM.

Groups:
Male WT (C57BL/6J) mice.
Mice were fed a chow diet (LabDiet PicoLab Rodent Diet 5LOD).

Name / AbbreviationDescription

Experimental Factor: Drug Administered

 Asprosin 1
Asprosin is a protein hormone produced by mammals in their fatty (white adipose) tissues during fasting that stimulates the liver to release glucose into the blood stream - isoform 1
 Asprosin 2
Asprosin is a protein hormone produced by mammals in their fatty (white adipose) tissues during fasting that stimulates the liver to release glucose into the blood stream - isoform 2
 Asprosin 3
Asprosin is a protein hormone produced by mammals in their fatty (white adipose) tissues during fasting that stimulates the liver to release glucose into the blood stream - isoform 3

Experimental Factor: Experimental Group

 Control
This animal belongs to the control group for the experiment.
 Experiment
This animal belongs to experimental group that is homozygous for gene manipulations.

Experimental Factor: Mouse Diet

 LabDiet PicoLab Rodent Diet 5LOD
Crude Protein 23%, crude fat 4.5%, crude fiber 6.0%. Ingredients: dehulled soybean meal, ground corn, dried beet pulp, fish meal, ground oats, dehydrated alfalfa meal, cane molasses, brewers dried yeast, wheat germ, whey, porcine animal fat...

Experimental Factor: Sable Run (RNum)

 Sable Run
The run number for the Sable system used to assess energy expenditure.
