Experiment

Liver GSH levels in B6 mice treated with miR375 and acetominophen Part 2
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Gao, Guangping
Description Acetaminophen (APAP) is one of the most commonly used drugs for pain and fever
in adults and children and is a leading cause of acute liver failure. miR-375 is
increased in children with APAP toxicity and correlates with APAP protein
adducts. Thus we use AAV8 mediated miR375 and found that over-expression of
miR-375 in the liver made mice resistant to APAP toxicity. RNAseq data suggested
that miR375 can up-regulate Phase II detoxification enzymes (partially through
activation of Nrf2) to protect hepatocytes against acetaminophen stress.
