Experiment

Circulating insulin levels following an OGTT in B6 mice fed high fat diet and
treated with human milk oligosaccharides
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Lee, Sunhye
Description The objective of this study was to investigate the beneficial effects of HMOs on
metabolic and cognitive functions in high fat fed mice.
Mice (6 weeks old) were acclimated for 1 week and divided into 4 groups as
follows, and fed individual diets for 8 weeks.
HMOs were provided in diets.
4 groups
10% low fat
10% low fat + 10% HMOs
45% high fat, 17% Sucrose
45% high fat, 17% Sucrose + 10% HMOs

After 6-hour fasting, an OGTT was performed and samples were collected 15
minutes after glucose gavage.

Plasma was collected using heparinized tubes and tissues (liver, visceral fats,
small intestines, colon, cecum contents, brain, nodose ganglion) were collected
for analysis.
