Experiment

Effect of Niclosamide Derivatives on Energy Expenditure
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Shengkan, Jin
Description This study aims to determine if MB-X01Y03 and MB-WX-53 increase energy
expenditure in control (C57BL/6J) mice. For this thirty (30) male C57BL/6J mice
will be imported from JAX at ~ 8 weeks of age. After 1-week acclimation, mice
will be counterbalance by weight into 3 groups: Vehicle, MB-X01Y03 (5.0
mg/kg.day), and MB-WX-53 (2.5 mg/kg.day). On day one, mice will begin 4-day
daily gavage treatment and acclimated the CLAMS chamber. On day two, mice are
treated by gavage and transferred (in chamber) to acclimate to the CLAMS unit.
On day three and four, animals’ energy expenditure, physical activity, and food
intake will be assessed with daily gavage treatment.
