2021-10-14 MacDougald - Rebecca 19 Mice NMR
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Schill, Rebecca
Description The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of inducible deletion of
LMNA, a gene that causes lipodystrophy in humans, on fat composition. In
particular, these mice were injected with tamoxifen, at which point an
adipocyte-specific cre was expressed selectively in adipocytes, and then
recombination of a floxed LMNA gene allowed for deletion. Our results
demonstrated that the mice begin to lose their fat mass by about 5-weeks post
injection.
