Effect of Whey protein and whey phospholipid on cognition with a HFD

Description 8 wk old C57BL/6J are imported and placed low-fat control diet until study
start. Animals were then placed on one of 5 diets using whey protein isolate
(WPI) as the source of protein and/or Whey phospholipid component (WPLC). These
include: 1) LF WPI Control Diet (WPI as protein source), 2) 45% HF WPI Control
Diet (WPI as protein source), 3) 45% HF + 1.6% WPLC Diet (WPI as protein
source), 4) 45% HF + 4 % WPLC Diet (WPI as protein source) or 5) 45% HFD with
(Casein as protein source). Animals are maintained on diet for 8 weeks prior to
assessing cognitive function by novel object test.
