Experiment

2022-09-19 Elias - Bethany 12 Mice 3 Day Sable Run
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Beekly, Bethany
Description TThese mice are being used to investigate the role of glutamatergic signaling
specifically in melanin-concentrating hormone (MCH) neurons of the hypothalamus,
which have a number of roles in sleep, metabolism, psychiatric illness,
olfaction, parental care, and reproductive function. By removing glutamatergic
signaling from these cells, we are attempting to parse which of the effects of
MCH neuron signaling are due to classical excitatory neurotransmission vs. other
neurotransmitters and neuropeptides like MCH itself.
