Experiment

Summary Data Summary
Investigator Li, Man
Description The sodium-hydrogen exchanger regulatory factor-1 (Nherf-1), also known as
EBP50, is a PDZ protein that cross-links membrane proteins to the F-actin
cytoskeleton. It plays an important role in the membrane localization and
functional regulation of numerous membrane proteins such as CFTR. We found that
mice deficient in Nherf-1 are protected from liver injury after bile duct
ligation. We think that tests of the liver function of Nherf-1 knockout mice
after bile duct ligation will provide valuable information on the possible role
of Nherf-1 in cholestatic liver injury.
