Experiment

Circulating levels of hormones and proinflammatory markers in HopX Tg mice
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Patel, Vickas
Description We used HopX transgenic mice that develop cardiac hypertrophy and inducible
atrial fibrillaion on a regualr chow diet with ad lib access to water for the
entire duration they mice were housed. Blood was obtained by cardiac puncture
after euthanasia with pentobarbital overdoase but no heparin was given to the
mice. The blood was placed in EDTA coated tubes and the plasma obtianed after
centrifugation.

HopX transgenic mice with cardiomyocyte-specific over-expression develop cardiac
hypertrophy and inducible atrial arrhythmias that mirror the clinical state with
heart disease and atrial arrhythmias.
