Experiment

Hyperinsulinemic Euglycemic clamp order #18590, November 2015
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Wheatcroft, Stephen
Description We have found in preliminary experiments that infusion of a small RGD peptide to
wild type C57BL/6 mice on an obesogenic diet leads to improved glucose tolerance
and increased insulin sensitivity on GTT and ITTs.

Purchase 8 week old male C57BL6 mice
Commence high fat diet (F3282 BioServ, NJ) ad libitum at 8 weeks old
After 4 weeks on diet implant s/c minipumps infusing RGD peptide or scrambled
control peptide (to be supplied by investigator) over 4 weeks
Continue high fat diet
During week 4 of infusion (week 8 on diet) undertake glucose clamping
