Description This mouse strain lacks the expression of miR-33 in the intron 16 of the Srebp2
gene

miR-33 regulates zellular cholesterol efflux and HDL biogenesis. Thus, it is a
key regulator of cholesterol metabolism and atherogenesis

Characterization of a similar model show obesity and T2D. We would like to
perform a deeper characterization of the molecular mechanism by which miR-33
regulates metabolic functions
