Sable Energy Balance #22039 9/8/16
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Simerly, Richard
Description Energy expenditure measured by indirect calorimetry in the Promethion by Sable
Systems. Activity, and water intake are also continuously measured. Food was not
measured in this experiment.
Measurements were taken for 8 consecutive days.
Running wheels were not present in the cage.
Mice were fed ad libitum.
Water: regular tap water, ad libitum.

Groups:
Male WT (C57BL/6J) and Tg (C57BL/6-Kcnj13tm1c(KOMP)Wtsi Tg(Mc4r-Cre)) mice
Mice were fed a high fat diet (Research Diets - D12492).
Male WT HF: n=6,
Male Tg HF: n=6,

Purpose of the experiment: This experiment will determine whether the groups of
mice have different energy expenditure.

Applicable Research Areas: Metabolism , Body weight regulation, energy
expenditure.
