Sable Energy Balance # 22069 12/5/16
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Simerly, Richard
Description Energy expenditure measured by indirect calorimetry in the Promethion by Sable
Systems. Activity and water intake are also continuously measured.
Measurements were taken for 8 consecutive days.
Running wheels were not present in the cage.
Mice had controlled access to food. Mice were fasted and then injected with
saline, food was restored for twenty-four hours. The mice were then fasted for a
second time and injected with AgRP peptide, food was restored for twenty-four
hours.
Water: regular tap water, ad libitum.

Groups:
Female WT(C57BL/6J ) and Tg (C57BL/6-Kcnj13tm1c(KOMP)Wtsi Tg(Mc4r-Cre)) mice.
Mice were fed a chow diet (LabDiet PicoLab Rodent Diet 5LOD).
Male WT Chow: n=8,
Male Tg Chow: n=8,

Purpose of the experiment: This experiment will determine whether the groups of
mice have different energy expenditure and feeding behaviors.

Applicable Research Areas: Metabolism , Body weight regulation, energy
expenditure, feeding behavior.
