Sable Energy Balance #22172 2/20/17
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Wasserman, David
Description Energy expenditure measured by indirect calorimetry in the Promethion by Sable
Systems. Activity, food intake and water intake are also continuously measured.
Measurements were taken for 8 consecutive days.
Running wheels were not present in the cage.
Mice were fed ad libitum.
Water: regular tap water, ad libitum.

Groups:
Male WT (B6N;129-Ilktm1Star/J) and KO (B6N;129-Ilktm1Star Tg(ACTA1-cre)79Jme)
mice.
Mice were fed a chow diet (LabDiet PicoLab Rodent Diet 5LOD) for the first run.
Mice were fed High Fat Diet (BioServ F3282) for the second run.

Run 1
Male WT Chow: n=9,
Male KO Chow: n=7,

Run 2
Male WT HF: n=9,
Male KO HF: n=7,

Purpose of the experiment: This experiment will determine whether the groups of
mice have different energy expenditure and feeding behaviors.

Applicable Research Areas: Metabolism , Body weight regulation, energy
expenditure, feeding behavior.
