Experiment

Effect of antibiotic treatment on obesity-driven changes in gut permeability and
metabolic endotoxemia-strain comparison
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Murphy, William
Description Female Balb/c mice were fed either 10% LFD (D12450J) or 60% HFD (D12492) for 4
months. Female C57BL/6NTac mice were fed either 10% LFD (D12450J) or 60% HFD
(D12492) for 6 months. Animals on the high fat diet were divided into 2 groups :
control(water) or antibiotic- treated (Vancomycin, ampicillin, and neomycin
provided in drinking water for 14 days). Mice were euthanized and intestinal
tissues (ileum and colon) obtained for gut permeability testing (n=3-4 /group)
and plasma LBP assessment.
