Liver lipids in B6 mice fed high fat diet and treated with human milk
oligosaccharides Part 2

Description The objective of this study was to investigate the beneficial effects of HMOs on
metabolic and cognitive functions in high fat fed mice. Mice (6 weeks old) were
acclimated for 1 week and divided into 2 groups as follows, and fed individual
diets for 12 weeks. HMOs were provided in diets.
2 groups
45% high fat, 17% Sucrose
45% high fat, 17% Sucrose + 10% HMOs

After 6-hour fasting, mice were sacrificed by cardiocentesis after being
anesthetized by pentobarbital. Plasma was collected using heparinized tubes and
tissues (liver, visceral fats, small intestines, colon, cecum contents, brain,
nodose ganglion) were collected for analysis.
