Experiment

Tissue Analysis # 3623
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Lawan, Ahmed
Description MKP-1 KO mice are resistant to diet-induced obesity due to enhanced energy
expenditure (Wu et al., 2006). Also, loss of MKP-1 prevents from hepatic
steatosis in genetically obese mice (Flach et al., 2011: Roth et al., 2009).
Here we generate Liver-specific DUSP-1 KO mouse to investigate the metabolic
effects of MKP-1 in the pathogenesis of obesity and diabetes. The findings from
this study would establish MKP-1 as a therapeutic target in the treatment of
obesity and diabetes.
