Experiment

Energy utilization and body composition of Nav1.8-LepR (fl/fl) mice (knockout of
LepR in sensory neurons)
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Raybould, Helen
Description We are testing the hypothesis that leptin resistance in vagal afferent neurons
(VAN) specifically is responsible for the onset of hyperphagia in LepR KO mice.
This study will examine energy expenditure, food intake/patterns, and body
composition (DEXA) in mice with a novel conditional knockout mouse deleting
leptin receptor selectively in sensory neurons (Nav1.8/LepRfl/fl mice).
