Strain
B6.129P2-Leprtm1Rck/J

Summary Data Summary
Official Name B6.129P2-Leprtm1Rck/J
Common Name LepRflox
Description A single loxP site was inserted 5' to exon 1 and a
loxP-flanked neomycin and thymidine kinase selection
cassette was inserted 3' to exon 1. The selection cassette
was removed in ES cells by transient Cre expression prior to
the production of chimeric mice. leaving a single loxP site
3' to exon 1 in the final allele.

These targeted mutation mice possess loxP sites on either
side of exon 1 of LepR. When bred to mice bearing a Cre
recombinase gene under the control of a tissue-specific
promoter, exon 1 of the targeted gene is deleted in the
tissue of interest. This strain may be useful in studies of
obesity.
