Strain
B6.129-Leprtm1Rck Scn10atm2(cre)Jnw

Summary Data Summary
Official Name B6.129-Leprtm1Rck Scn10atm2(cre)Jnw
Common Name Nav1.8-LepR(fl/fl)
Description Nav1.8 X LepR
B6.129-Scn10a X B6.129P2-Lepr/J

Lepr fl: A single loxP site was inserted 5' to exon 1 and a
loxP-flanked neomycin and thymidine kinase selection
cassette was inserted 3' to exon 1. The selection cassette
was removed in ES cells by transient Cre expression prior to
the production of chimeric mice. leaving a single loxP site
3' to exon 1 in the final allele.

Scn10a-cre: Cre recombinase, 3' UTR of Scn10a, and an FRT
flanked neo were knocked into the initiator methionine so
that Cre replaced the ATG. Crossing with mice expressing Flp
recombinase in the germ line excised the floxed neo. Cre
expression was observed beginning at embryonic day 14 in
small-diameter neurons in dorsal root, trigeminal, and
nodose ganglia but absent in nonneuronal and CNS tissues.
