Strain
C57BL/6-Enhotm1.1Butl

Summary Data Summary
Official Name C57BL/6-Enhotm1.1Butl
Common Name C57BL/6J-AdroKO Enho-/-
Description C57BL/6J where the Enho gene has been knocked out in a way
that knocks out the Adropin gene.

An FRT-flanked neomycin resistance cassette with a 5' loxP
site was inserted upstream of exon 2. An additional loxP
site was inserted in exon 2 downstream of the coding
sequence. Cre-mediated recombination removed the
loxP-flanked region, including the coding sequence and the
selection cassette. RT-PCR analysis revealed absence of RNA
expression in the liver, whole brain, and skeletal muscle of
homozygous mutant mice. Absence of serum levels in chow-fed
conditions was confirmed by ELISA.
Development Status Phenotyping ongoing
Creation Method knockout
Breeding Type intercross
Phenotype Description AdrKO exhibit hyperinsulinemia and increased propensity for
glucose intolerance on a western diet. There is no
difference in body weight or food intake.
