Sable Energy Balance #22076 9/26/16
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Hemnes, Anna
Description Energy expenditure measured by indirect calorimetry in the Promethion by Sable
Systems. Activity, food intake and water intake are also continuously measured.
Measurements were taken for 5 consecutive days.
Running wheels were not present in the cage.
Mice were fed ad libitum.
Water: regular tap water, ad libitum.

Groups:
Male and Female WT (C57BL/6J), Heterozygous (C57BL/6-Cav1tm1Mls/+/J
[C57BL/6-Cav1-/+/J]), and Homozygous (C57BL/6-Cav1tm1Mls/J [C57BL/6-Cav1-/-/J])
mice.
Mice were fed a chow diet (LabDiet PicoLab Rodent Diet 5LOD) or a High Fat Diet
(F3282 BioServ).
Male WT Chow: n= 2
Male Heterozygous Chow: n=2
Male Homozygous Chow: n=3
Female WT Chow: n= 2
Female Heterozygous Chow: n=3
Female Homozygous Chow: n=5
Male WT HF: n= 1
Male Heterozygous HF: n=4
Male Homozygous HF: n=4
Female WT HF: n= 3
Female Heterozygous HF: n=6
Female Homozygous HF: n=4

Purpose of the experiment: This experiment will determine whether the groups of
mice have different energy expenditure and feeding behaviors.

Applicable Research Areas: Metabolism , Body weight regulation, energy
expenditure, feeding behavior.
