Energy Balance/SABLE/GTT Order #12047 3/13/14
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Harrison, David
Description Energy expenditure measured by indirect calorimetry in the Promethion by Sable
Systems. Activity, food intake and water intake are also continuously measured.
Measurements were taken for 5 consecutive days.
Running wheels were not present in the cage.
Mice were fed ad libitum.
Water: regular tap water, ad libitum.

A Glucose Tolerance Test was also done. Mice were given a dose of 20% dextrose
based on their body weight. The dextrose was given either by IP injection or by
gavage. Glucose readings and insulin were taken before and after the dextrose
was given.

Groups:
Male WT (C57BL/6J), (C57BL/6J-Tg(Acta2-Cyba)), and (C57BL/6J-Rag1tm1Mom
Tg(Acta2-Cyba)) mice.
Mice were fed HarlanTD7012 or HarlanTD88137.
Mice were given either no treatment, CD4 AT Cells, or CD8 AT Cells.

Purpose of the experiment: This experiment will determine whether the groups of
mice have different energy expenditure and feeding behaviors. The experiment
will also determine whether the groups of mice have different glucose tolerance.

expenditure, feeding behavior.
