Experiment

Circulating ALT and AST levels in tx-J KO mice
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Medici, Valentina
Description The C3HeB/FeJ-Atp7b/J is a genetic mouse model of Wilson disease in humans. It
is being used to investigate the effect of maternal dietary methyl-group
supplementation, with or without copper-chelating agent administrations, on
markers of DNA methylation in fetuses and offspring. Studies in this model will
open the possibility to 1) explain teh effect of nutrition on clinical
manifestations of WD and other genetic diseases and 2) study epigenetic
mechanism of gene expression regulation and their effects on disease phenotype.
